The successful Post Graduate Diploma in Logistic and supply Chain Management graduate could expect to purse a career in the many Inventory analyst ,inventory clerk, inventory control clerk, inventory planner, Contract management officer contracts officer, energy asset surface land analyst, purchasing agent, Retail and wholesale buyer available in either a large corporation or a small business.

The program would help student to gain necessary knowledge and skills to facilitate business operation concerning supply chain and logistics management at different business and non-profit settings. The student of the program would have opportunity learn, analyze and apply skills and concepts in their workplace which they would gain through in-class activities, case studies, role play, individual assignments and group projects. To have comprehensive knowledge and skills and building strong foundation in business, supply chain, logistics and relevant areas the program would facilitate students to complete the required courses to be graduated from this program. Each course of the program has set out objective and outcome through which student would be able to address the needs of concurrent business activities as well as achieve their career goals.

Modules Included:

Essential Skills

In this module, the students will explore the Essential Skills that people require for work, learning and life, which provide the foundation for learning various other skills.

Microsoft Windows

This course is designed to teach the basic features of Microsoft Windows. Students will learn how to navigate Windows, start applications, quickly switch between applications, and create shortcuts. Students will also learn how to use the Explorer to find files, move files, and copy files. They will learn about the Windows hierarchical structure and how to create folders. Students will also learn how to rename, delete, and recover files.

Microsoft Word

Word processing is the use of computers to create, revise, and save documents for printing and future retrieval. This course will provide students with the basic concepts required to produce basic business documents.

Microsoft Excel

This course is designed for individuals who already have knowledge of Microsoft® Office 2013 , Windows® 7 (or above), and who desire to gain the skills necessary to create, edit, format, and print basic Microsoft Office Excel worksheets.

Microsoft Excel II

This course provides the students with the skills necessary to create templates, sort and filter data, import and export data, analyze data, and work with Excel on the web.

Microsoft Excel III

This course teaches the skills necessary to create macros, collaborate with others, audit and analyze worksheet data, incorporate multiple data sources, and import and export data.

Microsoft PowerPoint I

In today's work environment, presentations have moved far beyond flip charts and overhead projectors. Audiences not only expect that your presentations are in an electronic format, but they also demand that your presentations be unique and sophisticated in their use of such formats. In this course, you will work with Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® to create electronic presentations.

Microsoft Acces

Most organizations maintain and manage large amounts of information. One of the most efficient and powerful ways of managing data is by using relational databases. Information can be stored, linked, and managed using a single relational database application and its associated tools. This course examines the basic database concepts, and create and modify databases and their various objects using the Microsoft® Office Access relational database application.

Marketing

The Marketing and Sales course prepares student for a rewarding career in the sales, marketing, advertising and promotions components of a business. Marketing and sales are key factors for the development of business as business organizations’ growth and sustainability mainly depends on their sales activities where marketing plays a vital role. This is a program that would enable students to gain knowledge and skills in Sales, Sales Management, Marketing, Marketing Management, Relationship Management, as well as role of Media and Digital Media in marketing. Throughout the lectures, case studies, assignment, and group learning the class will focus on skills that need to give student an edge in the business world. The goal of the course is to ensure that students will gain expertise in Sales & Marketing.

Fundamentals of Business Communications

This course would teach students in making communication at different workplaces, and with clients and partners that helps organization to grow and develop. Students of this course will learn different forms of business communication which includes but not limited; how to format and write different types of business letters, memos, preparing business presentation, delivering oral presentations reports through using relevant computer applications and social media, write business proposals to submit to the clients and partners, business etiquette, address and assess conflict in organization, cultural aspects and their application in business environment. It also teaches how to conduct research for market and business, media and technology used in development of business, how to write business memo, how to speak to public to promote products and services of a business.

Introduction of Business Management

The course will focus on the processes and approaches the management should take in running and developing a business. Principle of Business Management course would enable student to gain necessary skills in planning, organizing, executing, leading, and controlling the activities of a business organization. The area and topic which would be covered under this course includes but not limited to decision making, business strategy, value diversity, work environment, value chain management, managing organizational structure and functions, leadership skills, and management strategies towards and employees and partners organization. The course would provide opportunity to students to analyze and assess cases of different companies, and research and enquire management practices of local and international firms.

Principles of Economics

Student would be able to learn different aspects of micro and macro economics that addresses business and relevant issue. This course is designed to enable student to gain skills and knowledge in basic theories and concept of economics which are important to business development. It would also increase research and analytical skills of student which would be helpful in analyzing market, business strategy, economic and business policies, monetary and fiscal policies and developing business organizations as well. The course would include the topics on Demand and Supply, Production and Distribution, Cost Analysis, Inflation and Deflation, International Trade and Balance, GDP, Import and Export and Economic policies.

Fundamentals of Accounting

The course covers the nature and purpose of accounting. It also provides the necessary knowledge with regard to bookkeeping, preparation of basic financial statements, adjustments to financial statements, preparation of the cash book, bank reconciliation statement and control accounts, accounting for property, plant and equipment, correction of accounting errors. The course aims at providing the students with exposure to the nature, purpose and methodology of accounting as well as the use of accounting information in the business.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Logistics & Supply Chain Management is essentially an integrative process that seeks to optimize the inflows of materials and supplies through the organization and its operations to the customer. Supply Chain and logistics management teach students how goods and products are processed and delivered to suppliers and downstream to final customers. Under the supply chain management model the goal is to maximize profit through enhanced competitiveness in the final market. The successful companies in business will wants to make supply chains more cost-effective than those of their competitors. This is a course which will enable students to understand the key factors in supply management, operation and planning, measuring logistics cost and cost analysis, risk assessment, packaging and handling, purchase and inventory as well as strategy for sustainable supply chain management. Throughout the lectures, case studies, assignment, and group learning the class will focus on skills that need to give student an edge in the business world. The goal of the course is to ensure that students will gain expertise in Supply and Chain logistics management.

Procurement & Supply Chain Management

Purchasing, procurement is now considering very important for businesses due to increase competition and globalization in business. An effective and efficient purchasing and supply functions can make an important contribution to the company result. Inventory management is an integral part of supply chain and logistics management through which company would able to improve efficiency in the warehouse, reduce cost for inventory, and shorten the order cycle time. The student of the course would gain knowledge in process of purchase, cost of purchase, contract and procurement, inventory receiving and shipping, and quality management. Throughout the lectures, case studies, assignment, and group learning the class will focus on skills that need to give student an ability to work in purchasing and inventory management field.

Supply Chain Transportation Management

This course provides a solid understanding of transportation and freight forwarding which is the most important component of global supply chains. It explains a variety of critical transportation management issues, providing insight into the strategic activities and challenges involved in the movement of goods through the supply chain. This course would also cover the basic transportation management concepts, key elements, processes, and interactions of transportation operations management, efficient, effective, and sustainable transportation operations as well as cost and global issues which impacts transportation. Throughout the lectures, case studies, assignment, and group learning the class will focus on skills that need to give student an ability to work in Transportation and freight forwarding.

Introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning

ERP application consists of various modules such as Human Resources (HR), Financials (FI), Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD) and other necessary modules to manage the resources of an organization. This also helps the company to get one view of the entire organization through one application instead of through multiple applications that require integration. SAP is the most popular ERP application currently available in the market. IT Support Analyst working in a ERP environment can face issues related to user login, password locks, unavailability of ERP Servers, Slow server connection, performing transports of change requests to QA System etc. By the end of this course, students will be able to handle these types of issues and responsibilities.

Supply Chain Sales and Distribution

Important aspects such as Organizational Structures, Master Data, Sales Document Processing, Shipping, Pricing, Billing, Sales Operating Planning and some Customizing are covered in this module. This gives the student the theoretical and practical skills to integrate ideas and theories into business processes that employers ask for. Student will learn using hands-on interactive methods, including case-studies, making their experience relevant and applied.

Operation & Supply Chain Management

Student will learn the elements that are common to operation of supply chain management. Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management, Operational Decision-Making Tools: Decision Analysis, Quality Management, Product Design, Service Design, Operational Decision-Making Tools: Facility Location Models and work models, Resource Planning, scheduling and other relevant aspects will be taught student throughout the course. This gives the student the theoretical and technical skills to integrate technology into business processes that employers ask for. Student will learn using hands-on interactive methods, including case-studies, making their experience relevant and applied.
